Jewish New Mexico
The impact is real. It is tangible. And it changes lives for the better.
Founded in 1948, the Jewish Federation of New Mexico is part of the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA), a network of 189 Jewish Federations and 400 independent communities. These organizations, raising an annual total of $2 billion, are dedicated to improving and enriching Jewish life around the world.
Federation is the heart and soul of Jewish New Mexico’s philanthropic and humanitarian activities. It embodies a 3,500-year-old tradition of caring that goes back to the giving of the Torah and sustains us in the bold pursuit of Jewish community, Jewish values and Jewish peoplehood. Federation is the people who care enough to want to perfect an imperfect world. Federation is the passion of commitment, where tzedakah and a sense of social justice can make a difference in someone’s life.
Federation builds and strengthens Jewish community — from the Land of Enchantment to our homeland, from the homebound to the homeless, from elderly Jews in Russia to North American teens discovering their birthright in Israel. Whether the task is reducing Jewish poverty and hunger, rescuing and resettling new immigrants, or spurring Jewish renaissance worldwide, Federation is committed to seizing this moment in Jewish history to ensure the continuity of the Jewish people. The Jewish Federation of New Mexico partners with Jewish organizations to meet the needs of Jews in New Mexico, Israel and worldwide through leadership, philanthropy, education and social action.
We’re a Big Deal!
When we pool our resources, the results are so much bigger. We bring dignity, hope and joy to people’s lives every day. Because we work together as a community, we ensure that Jewish social services and community organizations remain strong here at home, in Israel and around the world. Because we work together as a community, we effectively respond to the crises that confront us and our neighbors with loving kindness and enduring Jewish values. Because we work together as a community, we accomplish what no one individual could do on their own.
